Position: Full-Time, 40 hours +Benefits
Pay: Salaried position 45k-55k DOE
Reports to: Pastor
Language: Fluent English and Spanish required

Position Summary

The Director of Religious Education & Faith Formation assists the Pastor in the parish's mission of evangelization and catechesis, with particular responsibility for children's faith formation, sacramental preparation, OCIA, parent formation, and the formation and support of catechists.

We are seeking more than an administrator. We are looking for a faithful Catholic and pastoral leader who desires to help children and families encounter Jesus Christ, grow in the Catholic faith, and participate more deeply in the sacramental life of the Church.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ability to work Tuesday - Saturday
• Direct and coordinate bilingual Religious Education and Faith Formation programs (including but not limited to Bible Camp).
• Coordinate preparation for First Reconciliation, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion according to the Restored Order in the Archdiocese of Denver.
• Implement sacramental preparation program and approved catechetical resources with Pastor.
• Coordinate OCIA and sacramental preparation for adults, children, and youth entering the Church or completing their Sacraments of Initiation.
• Recruit, train, support, and accompany catechists and volunteers.
• Provide formation and support for parents as the primary educators of their children in the Catholic faith.
• Work closely with the Pastor and clergy regarding sacramental readiness, interviews, retreats, Confessions, rehearsals, rites, and sacramental celebrations.
• Communicate clearly and pastorally with families in both English and Spanish.
• Provide welcoming pastoral accompaniment to our Spanish-speaking, immigrant, and multicultural families.
• Maintain accurate registration and attendance.
• Maintain all sacramental records and notations.
• Develop and coordinate the annual Faith Formation calendar.
• Collaborate closely with Annunciation Catholic School regarding sacramental preparation and family faith formation.
• Ensure compliance with Archdiocese of Denver Safe Environment requirements.
• Participate in parish staff meetings, major parish celebrations, and the broader pastoral life of Annunciation.
• Coordinate, Manage and record all Baptismals.
• Manage Sacramental Certificates: Baptismal, First Communion and Confirmation.
• Attend AOD meetings and trainings pertaining to job.

Qualifications:

• Practicing Catholic in good standing who is faithful to the teachings and sacramental life of the Catholic Church.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish.
• Strong understanding of Catholic doctrine, Scripture, the sacraments, and parish life.
• Strong pastoral, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with children, parents, catechists, volunteers, clergy, and parish staff.
• Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends according to the parish Faith Formation and sacramental calendar.
• Successful completion and maintenance of all Archdiocese of Denver Safe Environment training, background checks, and Code of Conduct requirements.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide documentation establishing identity and employment authorization as required by federal law.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or formal formation in theology, catechetics, religious education, pastoral ministry, or a related field.
• Previous parish Faith Formation or Religious Education leadership experience.
• Familiarity with the Archdiocese of Denver's Restored Order program.
• Experience coordinating OCIA and recruiting and forming volunteer catechists.
