Caseworker - Pregnancy Help - Pro-Life

Job Description

SUMMARY: This part-time position works under the direction of a Nurse Supervisor to provide personalized support at Pregnancy Help, an outreach ministry of the Archdiocese of Boston for women facing challenges during pregnancy. This is a 32 hour a week position at the Pregnancy Help Office in Brockton.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the delivery of client services in a professional, confidential and compassionate way consistent with Pregnancy Help Office Guidelines and in keeping with Church teaching on the dignity of each human person.
Assess client needs and assure adequate delivery of client services. Responsibilities include:
Responding promptly to helpline calls, texts and emails
Evaluating client needs and recording relevant information on Client Screen form
Scheduling client appointments
Assisting clients in administration and reading of pregnancy tests
Accompanying clients to ultrasound appointments
Engaging in discussion regarding alternatives to abortion, including adoption, in a manner consistent with Catholic Church teaching
Providing resources and referrals to relevant health, housing and support services
Ensuring appropriate follow-up visits and education classes
Consulting Pregnancy Help Nurse Manager on difficult cases
Ensure complete and accurate recording of all Pregnancy Help client records.
Refer any client with possible medical complications to Nurse Manager immediately.
Make recommendations to Nurse Manager for appropriate level of material assistance to clients.
May be asked to assist Pro-Life Director with presentations at Parishes and other organizations.
Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to provide confidential, compassionate, non-judgmental care for women in crisis as a result of pregnancy
Commitment to respect the Church's teaching on abortion, contraception and the dignity of all human life
Ability to interact with associated medical and social service agencies
Strong service orientation
Bilingual ability preferred

PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:
Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Salary range $35-$37/hour
