Position: Fine Arts teacher (Temporary Position)
Status: Full-time Leave Replacement
Department: Arts and Innovation

St. Joseph's Preparatory is a Catholic, Jesuit, independent four-year college preparatory school located on the northern edge of center city Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will possess:

A bachelor's degree in a related field and experience teaching all levels of Art, including Ceramics, Art Foundations, Drawing, Painting and Graphic Design courses
A clear understanding of and commitment to the Prep's mission of graduating young men who are Religious, Loving, Open to Growth, Intellectually Ambitious, Open to Growth, and committed to Working for a Just World.
Expertise in adolescent development and pedagogy

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach a full course load; 5 classes and proctoring
Participate in co-curricular, service, and retreat opportunities with students
Collaborate and communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
A commitment to growing professionally.
Other duties as assigned

Mandatory Employment Clearances (Required per PA Law): Employment is contingent upon the timely production of the following valid clearances:

PA State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
FBI Fingerprint Background Check (Act 114) - Note: Must be processed through the PA Department of Education (PDE).
Mandated Reporter Training (Act 126): Evidence of completed child abuse recognition and reporting training.
Act 168 Disclosure Forms: Completion of sexual misconduct/abuse disclosure forms for all previous employers where the candidate had direct contact with children.
