Job Description
High School ASB CoordinatorSaint Joseph Academy, an independent classical Catholic school (TK-12) in North County San Diego, seeks a dedicated Part-Time High School ASB Coordinator. This role oversees the Associated Student Body (ASB), guiding student leaders in fostering fellowship, loyalty, discipline, and leadership within a Christ-centered community. The ASB promotes student welfare, organizes activities and fundraisers, builds cooperation among administration, staff, and students, and integrates Catholic virtues into all events and initiatives.
Position Overview
The ASB Coordinator mentors elected student officers and the broader student body through hands-on leadership training, project management, budgeting, collaboration, and event execution-cultivating skills in responsibility, service, and joyful fellowship aligned with the school's mission of evangelization and virtue formation.
Course Objectives / Student Learning Outcomes Through leadership training and practical experience, students will:
• Manage projects on set timelines
• Understand and manage an organization's budget
• Collaborate with peers to plan and execute activities and events
• Learn officer responsibilities and provide support across roles
• Manage the Crusader Canteen
Key Programs, Events, and Activities
• Plan and execute 5 school dances annually (Homecoming Dance, Winter Formal, Prom, Mother/Son Night of Fun, Daddy/Daughter Dance)
• Organize High School Orientation events (class shirts, Orientation Outing, Freshman Welcome Week)
• Coordinate Homecoming Pep Rally and Powder Puff Game
• Manage spirit signs/Crusader support for all sporting events (in collaboration with Athletics)
• Plan and lead all High School Spirit Weeks
• Organize All Saints Carnival and All-School Talent Show (Feast of St. Joseph)
• Oversee all aspects of the Crusader Canteen (stocking, operations, budgeting)
• Plan and execute fundraisers to fully support ASB elective and high school activities
• Coordinate Senior Goodbye Week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching / Instructional Duties
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons related to leadership, school activities, event planning, and Catholic virtues
• Assess student attendance, participation, and leadership growth
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and faculty
• Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, at events, and assigned duties
Administrative Duties
• Attend and contribute to high school team meetings
• Maintain and oversee ASB budget for events and activities
• Fully stock, manage, and budget for the Crusader Canteen
• Arrange and sign contracts with venues, vendors, and service providers
• Collaborate with administration, Athletics, and faculty to ensure events reflect school mission and safety
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Education, Leadership, Business, Theology, or related field)
• Experience in student activities, event planning, leadership advising, or youth ministry preferred
• Strong organizational, budgeting, communication, and supervisory skills
• Commitment to Catholic education and the school's mission of forming students intellectually, morally, and spiritually through classical liberal arts and virtue
• Enthusiasm for mentoring teens in joyful, faith-filled leadership and service
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small, mission-driven environment
• Clear background check and fingerprinting required
This is a part-time position (approximately 15 hours/week, with flexibility for event-heavy periods during school hours and occasional evenings/weekends for dances and events).
