Job Description
Position Overview:St. Dominic High School is seeking a faithful, dynamic, and creative Campus Minister to lead and grow the spiritual life of our school community. The Campus Minister will oversee the Campus Ministry program, foster a vibrant Catholic identity, and accompany students in their relationship with Christ through prayer, service, and formation. This individual will collaborate closely with the Priest Chaplain, faculty, and administration to integrate the Catholic faith into all aspects of school life.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Direct and manage the Campus Ministry program, including vision, planning, and execution of all initiatives
•Coordinate and oversee student Stewardship and volunteer service
opportunities
•Teach 2-4 sections of high school-level Catholic theology
•Plan, organize, and execute class retreat days (freshman through senior), including themes, speakers, logistics, and follow-up
•Develop and lead engaging, faithful, and creative religious programming for students (e.g., prayer services, devotionals, faith based events, liturgical seasons)
•Collaborate with the Priest Chaplain in planning school liturgies, Masses, Confession opportunities, and other sacramental life
•Promote Eucharistic devotion and opportunities for prayer, including Adoration and other traditional devotions
•Mentor and accompany students in their spiritual lives, including leadership of student ministry teams or peer leaders
•Support and help form student leaders in Campus Ministry and service initiatives
•Coordinate with theology faculty to support the integration of faith and student life outside the classroom
•Organize and lead service trips (as applicable)
•Assist in planning and executing school-wide liturgical celebrations (e.g., Holy Days, Advent, Lent, patronal feasts)
•Communicate regularly with students, parents, and faculty about Campus Ministry events and opportunities
•Maintain records of student service hours and retreat participation
•Uphold and witness to the teachings of the Catholic Church in all aspects of the role
Additional Responsibilities:
•Foster a culture of vocations awareness (priesthood, religious life, marriage, and lay vocation)
•Provide pastoral presence and support to students in times of need
•Collaborate with local parish(es) to strengthen school-parish relationships
•Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development
•Assist with faculty/staff spiritual formation opportunities (retreats, prayer, etc.)
•Ensure all programming is in conformity with the teachings of the Catholic Church
•Other duties as assigned by the Chaplain or Administration
Qualifications:
•Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, committed to living out the faith
•Bachelor's degree required (Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or related field preferred; Master's degree a plus)
•Experience in youth ministry, campus ministry, or Catholic education preferred
•Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
•Ability to engage and relate well to high school students
•Creativity and initiative in developing programs that foster authentic faith formation
•Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team
Preferred Qualities:
•Deep love for the Eucharist and the life of the Church
•Familiarity with Catholic devotional life and liturgical practices
•Ability to witness to the faith with clarity, charity, and joy
•Flexibility and energy in a dynamic school environment
Compensation and Benefits:
