Job Description
Job Opportunity: Grade 7 Confirmation CoordinatorSt. Mary's Parish - Holliston, Massachusetts
St. Mary's Parish is seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to serve as our Grade 7 Confirmation Coordinator. This is a vital leadership role in our faith formation ministry, tasked with guiding our seventh-grade students as they prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Our goal is to help our teens develop a working knowledge of their faith and to foster a deeper, more personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We are looking for an experienced teacher who can share the beauty of the Catholic faith not only through instruction but through their own lived example.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Instruction: Serve as the lead teacher for all classes, facilitating large-group instruction twice a month on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance and oversight to assistant and volunteer teachers who will be facilitating small-group exercises and breakout discussions.
Curriculum Implementation: Utilize the Purpose program by Life Teen to lead sessions, ensuring the content is engaging and doctrinally sound.
Preparation: Dedicate time outside of class to coordinate with your volunteer team, prepare lesson materials, and tailor the Purpose content to meet the specific needs of our students.
Mentorship: Act as a faithful witness to the Gospel, modeling discipleship for both the students and the volunteer team.
Requirements & Qualifications
Teaching Experience: Proven experience in a classroom or formal educational setting, with the ability to manage a classroom and effectively engage middle-school-aged students.
Leadership Skills: Ability to coordinate, delegate to, and support a team of volunteer assistants.
Practicing Catholic: Must be a Catholic in good standing with the Church, committed to the sacramental life and the moral teachings of the Catholic faith.
Faith Witness: Ability to share the faith effectively through teaching and by modeling a genuine, lived experience of discipleship.
Reliability: Commitment to the bi-weekly evening schedule and consistent preparation for class sessions.
Why Join St. Mary's?
