Job Description

St. Mary's Parish is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced educator to step into the role of Grade 8 Confirmation Coordinator. As our students approach the completion of their formal sacramental preparation, this position serves as a bridge, helping them mature in their understanding of the faith and preparing them for a life of active, intentional discipleship.

We are seeking a candidate who views their work as a ministry; someone who brings both professional teaching excellence and a vibrant, personal commitment to their Catholic faith.

Core Responsibilities
Lead Classroom Facilitator: Take primary responsibility for presenting the core curriculum during sessions held twice a month on Monday and Thursday evenings, from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.

Volunteer Team Management: Support and mentor our dedicated volunteer teachers by providing clear direction for the small-group breakout exercises during the main lesson.

Curriculum Delivery: Utilize the Purpose program by Life Teen to craft dynamic, thought-provoking sessions that resonate with eighth-grade students.

Lesson Preparation: Manage the necessary planning and coordination work between sessions, ensuring that both the volunteer team and the students are well-prepared for each class.

Spiritual Leadership: Serve as a mentor for our teens, helping them transition toward a deeper, more personal relationship with Jesus Christ through your own life experience and witness.

Qualifications
Educational Background: Proven teaching experience, specifically with the ability to manage a classroom environment and keep young adolescents engaged.

Leadership & Collaboration: A demonstrated ability to lead, organize, and inspire a team of volunteer assistants.

Faith Life: Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, eager to model a consistent and joyful Catholic lifestyle.

Communication: Ability to break down complex spiritual truths into lessons that are practical, relatable, and spiritually nourishing for middle schoolers.

Commitment: Reliability in adhering to the bi-weekly schedule and thoroughness in session preparation.

Why Join St. Mary's?
