Position Summary
The Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal is seeking an experienced, faith-filled, and dynamic Pilgrimage Director to lead and expand its pilgrimage ministry.
The Pilgrimage Director will oversee all aspects of the Shrine's pilgrimage program, including group outreach, scheduling, program development, tours, presentations, and on-site hospitality. The ideal candidate is a confident leader, self-starter, and relationship builder who can create organized, welcoming, and spiritually meaningful experiences for visitors.
This position is an integral member of the Beyond Sunday Team, the Basilica Shrine's faith outreach program serving schools, parishes, young adults, students, seniors, and other faith-based groups. Beyond Sunday provides opportunities for participants to actively engage in and deepen their Catholic faith.

Essential Responsibilities
• Manage the pilgrimage program from initial group inquiry through completion of each visit.
• Use Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT (RENXT) to schedule pilgrimage groups, maintain group and contact information, and track participation and engagement.
• Serve as the primary host for pilgrimage groups visiting the Basilica Shrine.
• Develop and maintain relationships with parishes, schools, dioceses, religious communities, senior groups, young adult ministries, and Catholic organizations.
• Proactively identify and recruit new pilgrimage groups within the tri-state area and beyond.
• Develop new pilgrimage offerings for audiences of different ages and backgrounds.
• Collaborate with the Beyond Sunday Team on faith-formation programs, events, outreach efforts, and departmental goals.
• Track participation, group retention, program growth, revenue, and participant feedback.
• Assist with budget planning and manage pilgrimage-related expenses responsibly.
• Represent the Basilica Shrine at parish, diocesan, educational, and community events as needed.

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of five years of experience managing pilgrimage groups, religious tours, retreat programs, group travel, faith-based events, or a related ministry.
• Strong knowledge and love of the Catholic faith, including Catholic traditions, liturgy, prayer, and devotion to the Blessed Mother.
• Commitment to the mission of the Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.
• Experience coordinating group programs, events, schedules, and logistics.
• Strong public-speaking and presentation skills.
• Ability to confidently lead tours and engage groups of varying ages and sizes.
• Dynamic, proactive, and results-oriented leadership style.
• Ability to build relationships with clergy, educators, parish leaders, group coordinators, visitors, staff members, and volunteers.
• Proficiency with email, calendars, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and standard office technology.
• Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in theology, religious studies, ministry, hospitality, communications, education, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• Experience working in a Catholic parish, shrine, diocese, school, retreat center, religious community, or nonprofit organization.
• Experience increasing program participation or expanding outreach into new geographic areas.

This is a full-time, on-site salaried position with excellent benefits. The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 annually.
