Job Description

THIS POSITION IS ONSITE IN HOUSTON, TX.

Social Media Manager Overview:

The Digital Engagement Manager plays a key role in advancing the mission of our Catholic apostolate by creating, coordinating, and managing online content that evangelizes, informs, and inspires. This position is responsible for overseeing all GRN website blog content, social media outreach, Patreon supporter engagement, and online merchandise sales, ensuring that all digital touchpoints authentically and consistently re ect our Catholic identity and mission.

The ideal candidate is a faithful, creative, and digitally savvy communicator who is passionate about sharing the truth and beauty of the Catholic faith in today's digital landscape.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordinating and creating

Mission-Aligned Content Creation

•Develop and maintain a content calendar that integrates blog posts, social media updates, email outreach, and Patreon content in service of our mission.
•Coordinate and edit blog content from multiple authors that is faithful to Church teaching, engaging, and accessible to a broad audience.
• Coordinate with clergy, sta , or guest contributors to feature articles, testimonies, re ections, and catechetical material.
Social Media Ministry & Engagement
•Coordinate and schedule daily social media content that communicates the Gospel, promotes upcoming events, and invites people deeper into the life of faith.
•Actively manage comments, messages, and community conversations with charity, clarity, and a pastoral spirit.
•Track engagement metrics to guide strategy and growth across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X (Twitter).
•Utilize creative eye to repackage pre-existing content to speak directly to breaking news or trending topics
•Ability to work independently or collaboratively to accomplish common objectives.

Supporter Community & Patreon Stewardship

• Manage our Patreon page and membership tiers, providing regular content, exclusive updates, and behind-the-scenes insights to strengthen donor relationships.
•Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, including cataloging and content management.
•Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills; ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.
•Collaborate with fundraising sta to cultivate a strong sense of mission and gratitude among supporters.
• Encourage ongoing engagement and retention by o ering meaningful digital perks and spiritual encouragement.
Mission-Driven Merchandising
•Coordinate the development, design, and sales of branded merchandise (e.g., t-shirts, mugs) through the Bon re platform.
•Ensure all merchandise re ects our Catholic values, is GRN branded, and is used as a tool for evangelization, visibility, and support.
•Track sales and manage seasonal promotions or themed campaigns.
Integration & Mission Consistency
•Ensure consistent messaging and visual identity with GRN branding across all digital platforms.
•Collaborate with GRN markets to align content with organizational goals, feast days, liturgical seasons, and special campaigns.
•Support email newsletters and announcements to keep our community informed and engaged.
•Create and leverage GRN produced content to acquire new listeners.
•Create and maintain successful branding and imaging that attracts listeners, followers, participants, volunteers, and supporters for the GRN.

Analytics & Reporting:

•Monitor performance metrics related to social media engagement, website tra c, merchandise sales, and Patreon growth.
•Generate monthly reports and provide insights/recommendations to improve reach, stewardship, and digital impact.
•Review current marketing trends and promotions to determine the effectiveness of different styles and strategies.
•Develop and maintain a marketing plan/calendar for Catholic media focused campaigns on Meta, Youtube, Constant Contact and other platforms.

Qualifications Required:

•A practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church, who is passionate about evangelization and upholding Church teaching.
•Proven experience in digital content creation, social media management, or digital marketing.
•Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
•Familiarity with platforms such as WordPress, Canva, Patreon, Constant Contact, and social media tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite).
•Experience using or managing online merchandise platforms like Bon re, Printful, or Shopify.
•Highly organized and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and a collaborative spirit.

Preferred:

•Graphic design, photography, or video editing skills.
•Experience in nonpro t or ministry communications.
•Familiarity with Catholic media, apostolates, or evangelization e orts.
•Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, including cataloging and content management.
•Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills; ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.
•Experience with image and video editing programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva
•The marketing field changes rapidly, you are adaptable, and resourceful and can continue learning new skills to achieve the goals of GRN Digital.
•You possess an analytical mind and can create data driven strategies based on market research
•You're creative and can come up with fresh and engaging marketing campaigns and ideas.
