SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the general supervision and training of assigned social work staff working with child placement, refugee services, families with special needs, and other programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Directly supervises, trains, and evaluates social workers, outreach workers and support staff including student field placements, case aides, therapeutic mentors, and volunteers as assigned to include the development and implementation of service standards, goals and objectives.
Responsible for maintaining ongoing student field placement program for Foster Care Program.
Participates in the development and monitoring of new and existing programs
Participates in evaluating and developing program policy.
Provides crisis intervention and back up for all cases in worker's absence.
Serves as primary backup to on-call worker.
Responsible for assuring that all records are in compliance with licensing standards, accreditation standards and agency policy and that all case documentation is prepared and presented for inclusion in records on a timely basis.
Supervises and provide input for each treatment plan for every team case.
Participates as a member of the Placement Committee including developing working knowledge of all foster families in program.
Investigates and follow up on all CPS complaints as required by Program Manager.
Responsible for the integrity of foster parent in-service training to include establishing and updating materials, overseeing the presentation or personally presenting the training sessions
Coordinates, presents, and/or participates in staff in-service training and meetings for social work staff.
Provides office coverage in Program Managers absence.
May provide limited casework service (as applicable).
Promotes staff professional growth through established training requirements.
Represents the Agency in the community and workplace in a professional and ethical manner.
Demonstrates sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, oral, and written skills.
Utilizes a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Doctorate or master's degree in social work (school has to be accredited) plus three years of experience providing casework services to children and families; or
Doctorate or master's degree in related field such as, but not limited to sociology, psychology, special education, or counseling with at least four years of experience in providing casework service to children and families in a child-placing agency; or
A baccalaureate degree in any field plus five years of experience in providing casework service sot children and families.
