JOB DESCRIPTION

The Gupta College of Business at the University of Dallas invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. In extraordinary circumstances, depending on the rank and credentials of the applicant, the appointment may be at the rank of Associate Professor without tenure.

The successful faculty member will demonstrate an ability to effectively teach leadership theory as well as management and integrated business courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels, to conduct leadership research leading to peer-reviewed publications in journals designated by the College, to chair student dissertations, to engage in service as assigned, and to exercise interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues.
The position will start in August 2026.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach 9 course credit hours (usually three courses) per semester typically including two to three preparations per semester.
Deliver courses in on ground, online (synchronous and asynchronous), and hybrid formats to undergraduate, masters, and/or doctoral students.
Develop and deliver effective courses, benchmarking the best teaching practices of management/leadership in higher education.
Maintain student attendance, grades, and other required records.
Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students.
Assess course and program level learning outcomes.
Engage students and participate in an outcomes-based educational environment.
Participate in meetings pertinent to faculty professional responsibilities, including standing and ad hoc committees.
Advise undergraduate students.
Mentor students and help them with their career goals.
Conduct leadership research to stay current in the field.
Publish peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings to maintain academic (SA) qualifications according to the College's definition for AACSB accreditation.
Chair or serve on dissertation committees.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Ph.D. or DBA in Management (or related disciplinary field) from an AACSB accredited institution (or comparable accreditation specific to field). Advanced ABD may be considered (degree must be completed by August 2026).
Teaching experience or documented teaching preparation, knowledge of and proficiency in applying a variety of instructional methods proven to enhance student learning.
Research experience or documented research preparation consistent with maintaining scholarly academic (SA) status (publications in journals included in the ABDC list) in accordance with the University of Dallas College of Business definition to meet AACSB standards.
Evidence of advanced knowledge of leadership theory and practice.
Evidence of professional alignment with the Catholic identity of the University.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Relevant industry, corporate business, consulting, non-profit or government/military managerial experience.
Leadership experience in a professional or academic role.
Excellent oral presentation skills.
Publications in high quality journals in the field.
Experience teaching and/or developing on ground, online (synchronous and asynchronous), hybrid, or web-enhanced courses.
Strong quantitative methods skills with the ability to teach and mentor doctoral students engaged in practice-based research.
A record of outstanding student evaluations.
Experience as a student, administrator, or faculty member at a liberal arts college.
