Director of Campus MinistryRoman Catholic High School

POSITION SUMMARY
Roman Catholic High School is currently seeking an energetic, disciplined, and highly organized individual to fill the Director of Campus Ministry position. This position oversees the day-to-day operation of the ministry program and the ministry center, acting as the liaison between the ministry team and the administrative team of the school. The Director of Campus Ministry serves the spiritual needs of the school community by providing daily opportunities for growth in the Catholic Faith, including liturgies, retreats, outreach and service, the promotion of respect for human life, and other causes central to the Catholic identity of the school.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Liturgy, Worship, and Prayer
• Scheduling, planning, executing, and evaluating all school-wide liturgies and para-liturgical services.
• Scheduling, set-up, and clean-up for weekday Masses.
• Scheduling and supervising student sacristans and liturgical ministers.
• Collaborating with music director, choir, and instrumentalists on the planning and execution of liturgical music for school-wide liturgies.
• Leading significant moments of prayer during and after the school day (i.e. morning prayer, grace before/after meals, assemblies, athletic events, etc.).
• Planning and executing the annual Forty Hours Devotion.
• Retreats
• Planning, executing, and evaluating dynamic, engaging, and meaningful class and faculty retreats (specifically: scheduling/managing guest speakers and activities for the day itself).
• Directing the planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation of Kairos retreats.
• Outreach and Evangelization
• Promoting vocations to the priesthood and religious life; coordinating vocational discernment opportunities with the Director of Vocations to Archdiocesan Priesthood/Religious Life Vocation Directors.
• Supervising and collaborating with the moderators of Community Service Corps and Respect Life clubs and other activities that fall under the umbrella of Catholic identity.
• Promoting Church teachings on social justice issues (e.g. respect for human life).
• Directing outreach initiatives to non-Catholic/unchurched students and staff and coordinating with parishes on RCIA
Varia
• Collaborating with the administrative team to create the master calendar for spiritual life during the school year.
• Collaborating with the administrative team to create the budget for the ministry program and Kairos retreats.
• Attending staff meetings and serving as the primary contact with the administration on all activities related to the spiritual life of the school community.
• Maintaining the upkeep of the chapel and sacristy (i.e. ordering supplies, cleaning vessels/cloths, etc.).
• Composing and publishing worship aids, booklets, handouts, etc. for liturgies, para-liturgical services, retreats, and assemblies.
• Updating parents/guardians, alumni, and benefactors (via newsletters, meetings, announcements, school website, social media, etc.) on the faith life of the school to engage them in the work of campus ministry.
• Being present at activities outside the school day to show support for students and staff in the community.
• Participating in meetings/workshops sponsored by the Office of Catechetical Formation for Campus Ministers.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be a practicing Catholic, willing to uphold Catholic moral teaching and leading a life consistent with the Catholic Faith as stated in letter from Pastor.
• Bachelor's degree with Theology or Religious studies from a Catholic College or University.
• Previous experience in campus ministry, youth ministry, or parish life preferred.
• Strong verbal, written, customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, parents/families, administrators, faculty, and staff.
• Possess initiative, leadership, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor.
• Poised and engaging with an intellectual depth, maturity, judgement, and professionalism to earn the confidence and trust of both colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), email, and social media.
• Knowledge of, and commitment to, the mission of Roman Catholic High School.
US WORK AUTHORIZATION IS REQUIRED
This is a 10-month, full-time position with benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.
