Job Description
The Catholic Diocese of Richmond is seeking a full time Program and Marriage Preparation Coordinator for the Office for Evangelization, in Richmond, Virginia.The Office for Evangelization seeks to evangelize individuals and families across the diocese and the Coordinator assists in that goal by assisting in the coordination of events sponsored by the office. Additionally, they oversee the implementation of the Unveiled Marriage Prep Program by managing the logistics of each session. They will also help in the creation and oversight of the Spanish Unveiled program, and as such candidates must be proficient in Spanish, both spoken and written. The Coordinator would be an important part of the team dedicated to supporting the Diocese of Richmond in the work of evangelization.
Office program/event-related responsibilities
1. Coordinate various program or event logistics including site procurement, customer engagement, and on-site management.
2. Serve as the diocesan liaison, including limited contract negotiations, with external vendors (lodging, meeting venues, caterers, parishes, schools, etc.) for events and programs sponsored by the Office for Evangelization.
3. Identify specific support needs and recruits and manages volunteers for programs and events sponsored by the Office for Evangelization Office for Evangelization.
4. Oversee the internal Diocesan Safe Environment practices to ensure all diocesan policies are followed for all events sponsored by the Office for Evangelization, including working directly with the Office of Human Resources to ensure compliance.
5. Oversee the internal Diocesan Speaker Approval Process.
6. Assist with resolving problems or complaints before, during and after programs/events.
7. Develop specific checklists for monitoring program/event success and prepares summaries at the conclusion for distribution to office director/associate directors.
8. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to both provide and role model quality customer service.
9. Translate from English to Spanish marketing and resource material of the office.
Marriage Preparation-related responsibilities
10. Coordinate all logistics pertaining to diocesan marriage preparation program, in both English and Spanish, to include (and not limited to):
a. Location scheduling and management
b. Facilitator scheduling and management
c. Materials distribution
d. Meal ordering
e. On-site support
11. Maintain online registration system for all classes.
12. Communicate with participants of marriage preparation classes before and after their classes, as appropriate, to assist with any questions or additional follow-up.
13. Identify, recruit, certify, and supervise a pool of facilitators.
14. Serve as an on-site support for at least 50% (approximately 10) of the weekend, Unveiled classes annually.
15. Conduct feedback sessions with facilitators upon conclusion of each class.
16. Perform all other duties as assigned.
