HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
Many chef and food service roles come with long nights, unpredictable schedules, and limited work-life balance. This opportunity offers something different. EWTN is seeking a talented Chef who takes pride in preparing exceptional meals, serving others through hospitality, and creating a welcoming experience for guests and employees alike. In this role, you will combine hands-on culinary expertise with kitchen leadership in a mission-driven environment where hospitality plays an important role in supporting EWTN's work and mission. Guests from around the world visit EWTN, and the dining experience can have a meaningful impact on making them feel welcomed and cared for.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• As Chef for EWTN's Irondale campus, you will oversee daily dining operations and ensure a high-quality experience for guests and staff.
• This hands-on role includes menu planning, food preparation, purchasing and ordering supplies, inventory management, and maintaining smooth kitchen operations.
• You will be responsible for ensuring meals are prepared safely, served efficiently, and consistently meet high standards for quality and presentation.
• In addition, you will monitor food costs, maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation requirements, support part-time staff as needed, and continually seek opportunities to enhance the overall dining experience through collaboration and guest feedback.
ABOUT YOU:
• You bring at least five years of experience in food service, kitchen leadership, or a related field, along with a genuine passion for creating great food and serving others.
• You possess strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills and have experience managing kitchen operations, purchasing, inventory, and food safety practices.
• You are dependable, adaptable, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• You value relationship-building and work well with guests, employees, and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of the Catholic faith and support for EWTN's mission are preferred.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT WORKING HERE:
• We offer a career with purpose! Apply your talents, knowing your contributions help to advance EWTN's mission of sharing the Gospel with the world.
• Caring environment - we value the importance of family/life balance and welcome you as an EWTN family member, not just an employee.
• Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability insurance and Retirement Savings Plan.
• 11 Paid Holidays and generous Paid Time Off program.
• Tuition reimbursement through our partnership with Catholic International University.
• Spiritual enrichment - freedom to participate in Mass, visit the chapel for prayer or attend an annual retreat.
• Ability to learn alongside legacy employees while bringing new ideas to the growing team!
