Job Description

St. Bernadette Catholic School in Hollywood, Florida is hiring for a Middle School Social Studies and Religion Teacher for the current academic year. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for middle school grades 6-8. The candidate will also coordinate community service for middle school students, prepare 8th grade students for Confirmation, and help prepare weekly masses and coordination of student participation (lectors, altar servers, etc.) along with teachers. The Middle School Teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of service.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Social Studies, Religion, or related field.
FDOE Teaching Certificate in Middle School grades 6-8; temporary or professional required.
Must be Catechist certified.
Excellent classroom management skills.
Able to demonstrate the technology skills needed to use digital books, interactive classroom technology such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Database, Spreadsheet management, and digital gradebooks.
Strong oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
Practicing Catholic in good standing who fully adheres to and models the Roman Catholic Church teachings in faith and morals.
Fully committed, supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in a Roman Catholic environment preferred.
Must have a professional demeanor.
