Job Description
Anticipated Start Date: July 2026Job Qualifications
-Candidates must be practicing Roman Catholics, committed to the mission of Catholic education, who possess:
-New York State certification in School Administration and Supervision or the equivalent.
-A master's degree conferred by a college or university registered by the New York State Board of Regents or accredited by an appropriate regional accrediting agency.
-An Initial Certificate of Faith Formation, or eligibility to begin such certification upon employment.
-A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in a Catholic, private, or public school setting.
-Demonstrated leadership ability, strong communication skills, and a commitment to collaboration with clergy, faculty, families, and governance structures.
Responsibilities: The Principal serves as the chief administrator and spiritual leader of the Academy and is responsible for implementing the mission and philosophy of Catholic education in accordance with the policies of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Providing strong Catholic leadership by fostering and sustaining the Academy's Catholic identity through prayer, liturgy, religious instruction, and daily practice.
-Developing, articulating, and implementing a shared mission and vision that supports academic excellence, student well-being, and faith formation.
-Collaborating with parish clergy to support the spiritual life of the Academy and strengthen the relationship between the parish and school.
-Working collaboratively with the Board of Directors, particularly the Board Chair, to advance the academic, operational, and strategic goals of the Academy.
-Ensuring equitable access to high-quality instruction and implementing culturally responsive practices that promote the success of all students.
-Supervising curriculum, instruction, and assessment to ensure alignment with Diocesan guidelines and New York State standards.
-Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school climate that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students.
-Supervising, evaluating, and supporting faculty and staff to promote professional growth and instructional excellence.
-Engaging parents and families as partners in the educational process and fostering strong relationships with the wider community.
-Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Academy, including budgeting, enrollment, facilities, and personnel, in support of long-term sustainability.
-Using data and reflective practices to lead continuous school improvement and ensure accountability for student outcomes.
Compensation & Timeline
-Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and aligned with Diocesan guidelines.
-Interviews are anticipated to begin in March-April 2026
