Job Description
The Head Football Coach will direct all aspects of the football program, including coaching, player development, game preparation, and program administration. The successful candidate will promote the Catholic mission of Holy Trinity High School while emphasizing sportsmanship, personal growth, and academic achievement. We are seeking a resilient leader with the energy and drive to rebuild Holy Trinity Football. Following a single-season hiatus, the ideal candidate understands the grit required to restore the program, foster community support, and lay a strong foundation for long-term success.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead and oversee all aspects of the football program.
Model and cultivate high character, integrity, and respect among student-athletes.
Create a positive, competitive, and supportive team culture aligned with Catholic virtues and school standards.
Develop and implement effective practice plans, game strategies, and training programs.
Oversee assistant coaches and collaborate with the Athletic Department.
Support the academic success of all student-athletes.
Ensure adherence to all league and CHSAA constitutional by-laws.
Promote interest in Holy Trinity High School and its football program amongst prospective and current students within the boundaries of the CHSAA constitutional by-laws.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration.
Promote safety, proper conduct, and accountability on and off the field, in collaboration with school administration.
Reestablish the identity, traditions, and visibility of the football program within the school community by developing a strong program culture that creates pride among students, athletes, families, and alumni.
Work on creating new traditions and opportunities for engagement with former players and alumni in collaboration with the Athletic Department, administration and Advisory Board.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated history of high character and strong moral leadership.
Prior football coaching experience at the high school level or higher.
Ability to mentor and inspire student-athletes.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Commitment to fostering a positive educational and athletic environment.
CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to season).
Must meet all Holy Trinity and CHSAA coaching requirements.
VIRTUS training prior to or at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church
Knowledge of player development, strength and conditioning, and film analysis.
Previous experience as a head coach or coordinator.
Physical Requirements:
The position requires the ability to actively participate in and supervise football practices, conditioning activities, games and related athletic activities. Candidates must be able to perform essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. These include:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to move throughout football fields, sidelines, locker rooms and other practice areas
• Ability to demonstrate or assist in demonstrating football techniques, drills, positioning and other instructional activities when necessary.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach and perform other movements associated with coaching.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, move or assist with football equipment, supplies and other materials associated with program.
Compensation: Seasonal stipend of $6,885-$10,985
