Job Title Patient Services Director
Classification Staff | Non-Exempt | Director of Patient Services Team
Reports to Executive Director
Oversees Nurse Manager and Ultrasound Manager

Primary Function
In collaboration with the Medical Director, the Patient Services Director provides and oversees compassionate, life-affirming healthcare services to pregnant patients. As part of our faith-based team, the Director supports the holistic well-being of patients by integrating medical care consistent with the center's mission to affirm life and support families through pregnancy and beyond.

Job Duties

Administrative:
• Actively manages Medical Advisory Committee in growing A Woman's Concern's medical vision and programs.
• Audits client charts as appropriate.
• Consults with the Medical Services Director and Executive Director on a regular basis.
• Manages medical staff including nurses, sonographers and patient care leaders.
o Oversees center's medical staff schedule and ensuring coverage for services and appointments.
o Manages and reviews current Health & Safety education curriculum and schedule for quality control and applicability.
o Oversees adequate inventory control for medical supplies and equipment.
• Leads AAAHC accreditation maintenance and compliance for center's policies and procedures
o Ensures annual compliance by medical staff
o Maintains documentation on all current and former staff in accordance with regulatory statues.

Medical Services
• Using the evidence-based FOCUS model, this position is part of a team that ensures that each patient receives accurate and truthful information and experiences a high standard of emotional support in a controlled, professional environment.
• This role is essential in equipping women facing planned or unplanned pregnancies with medically accurate and evidence-based life-affirming information, leading to greater peace of mind and confident decision-making.
• Directs patient contact including consultation, pregnancy testing, post-appointment follow-up as needed, education, medical and social referrals.
• Responsible for maintaining confidentiality, upholding patient dignity, and ensuring that every interaction reflects the organization's commitment to excellence and love.

Collaborative Care and Team Coordination
• In partnership with the Nurse and Ultrasounds Managers, oversees patient medical testing and collaborates with Medical Director and Interpreting Ultrasound Physician as necessary.
• Ensures accurate implementation of physician's orders and advises physician(s) of patient's progress and changes in condition.
• Refers patients for medical needs.
• Maintains accurate patient medical records and medical referrals.
• Ensures the center upholds patient privacy per applicable laws and regulations.
• Works with physicians, nurses, sonographers, advocates and support staff to deliver comprehensive, family-centered pregnancy care.
• Participates in patient collaboration to discuss plan of care, patient progress, and strategies for holistic support.
Documentation:
• Maintains accurate, confidential, and timely medical records for all patient encounters.
• Documents clinical assessments and follow-up care in accordance with center policies.

Education and Advocacy:
• Oversees education of patients/clients and families on early pregnancy services, healthy pregnancy practices, childbirth preparation, and postpartum wellness.
• Provides guidance that encourages nurturing maternal and fetal health.
• Offers resources on parenting, newborn care, and the importance of community support, consistent with the center's mission.
• Advocates for mothers and babies by promoting holistic well-being and positive family dynamics.

Professional Development and Compliance:
• Stays current with best practices and clinical guidelines related to pregnancy care.
• Participates in professional development activities that strengthen clinical support skills and staff including continuing education requirements and license registrations.
• Helps to create, update and ensure compliance with center policies, AAAHC standards, and state regulations, while upholding the center's life-affirming and faith-centered values.
• Models ethical behavior and demonstrates a commitment to the dignity and sanctity of life in all professional interactions.

Patient Care and Clinical Services:

• Provides comprehensive, life-affirming care, including medical history assessments, physical examinations, prenatal evaluations, and ongoing support.
• Diagnoses and manages pregnancy-related conditions while upholding a life-affirming philosophy and respecting patients' dignity and worth.
• Develops and implement individualized care plans that include prenatal education, nutrition guidance, and holistic health practices.
• Performs routine diagnostic tests, such as ultrasounds and laboratory evaluations, with a compassionate and supportive approach.
• Prescribes medications and provide guidance on prenatal health, including lifestyle recommendations that align with the clinic's values.
• Offers postpartum follow-up care, including breastfeeding support and education on infant care within a family-centered framework.
• Evaluates impact of offering mobile pregnancy services and works with team with implementation plan if determined beneficial.

Qualifications:
Passionately pro-life; expresses full agreement with and acts in concert with A Woman's Concern's Mission Statement.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred in women's health, obstetrics, or a related field.
Respects confidentiality and privacy per applicable laws and regulations.

Educational Requirements (at least one of the following) and :
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of PA or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
• Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited institution.
• Certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), with experience in pregnancy care preferred.
Upon hire, ability to secure Child Abuse Clearance, State Police Clearance and FBI Fingerprinting and Criminal Background Check. On a bi-annual basis, participate in training for mandated reporting of child abuse. Current CPR and BLS certification.

Physical Demands
Activities in performance of duties include sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25lbs, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, keystroking on a keyboard or similar device, talking, hearing and seeing.
