Job Title NurseClassification Staff | Member of Medical Services Team
Reports to Medical Services Manager
Status Part-time, 2 days a week; 14-20 hours per week
Primary Function
Under the supervision of the Medical Services Manager, the Nurse supports the delivery of high-quality, professional medical services for A Woman's Concern's patients. Responsibilities include pregnancy testing, patient education, STI testing, follow-up support, OSHA and privacy compliance, and other medical services as needed. The Nurse must maintain a working knowledge of nursing methods, principles, and practices related to disease prevention, patient safety, infection control, clinical systems, supplies, and equipment.
Educational Requirements
• Maintains a current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Pennsylvania.
• Maintains CPR certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Applies experience in women's health, obstetrics, or medical clinic settings.
• Demonstrates strong skills in clinical nursing procedures, patient communication, and electronic health record documentation.
• Collaborates effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team while upholding patient confidentiality and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Patient Medical Services
• Applies the evidence-based FOCUS model as part of a team to ensure each patient receives accurate and truthful information and a high standard of emotional support in a controlled, professional environment.
• Equips women facing planned or unplanned pregnancies with medically accurate, evidence-based, life-affirming information to support greater peace of mind and confident decision-making.
• Provides direct patient services, including consultation, pregnancy testing, post-appointment follow-up as needed, education, and appropriate medical and social service referrals.
• Educates patients on sexual health, STI prevention, risk reduction, and the importance of timely testing and treatment, promoting overall wellness and informed health choices.
• Maintains confidentiality, upholds patient dignity, and ensures that every interaction reflects the organization's commitment to excellence, compassion, and respect.
Collaborative Care and Team Coordination
• Implements physician's orders accurately and advises physician(s) of patient progress and changes in condition as applicable.
• Refers patients for additional medical needs as directed by the Medical Services Team.
• Maintains accurate patient medical records and medical referrals.
• Protects patient privacy in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and center policies.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, sonographers, advocates, and support staff to deliver comprehensive, family-centered pregnancy care.
• Participates in care team collaboration to discuss plans of care, patient progress, and strategies for holistic support.
Documentation
• Maintains accurate, confidential, and timely medical records for all patient encounters.
• Documents clinical assessments and follow-up care in accordance with center policies.
Professional Development and Compliance
• Stays current with best practices and clinical guidelines related to pregnancy care.
• Participates in professional development activities that strengthen clinical support skills, including continuing education requirements and license renewal requirements.
• Assists in creating, updating, and maintaining compliance with center policies, AAAHC standards, and state regulations while upholding the center's life-affirming and faith-centered values.
• Models ethical behavior and demonstrates a commitment to the dignity and sanctity of life in all professional interactions.
Qualifications

- Maintains a consistent life-affirming philosophy and refrains from referring or advising a patient to have an abortion.

Physical Demands
Activities in performance of duties include sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting to 5 lbs., kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, keystroking on a keyboard or similar device, talking, hearing, and seeing.
