Job Description
The Madeleine Choir School, a mission of The Cathedral of the Madeleine, seeks a Lower School Principal to serve as Academic/Instructional Leader for approximately 200 students from diverse backgrounds in Pre-Kindergarten 3 through Grade Three. Serving collaboratively with a leadership team under the direction of the Pastoral Administrator, the successful Catholic candidate will support the school's excellent instruction in mathematics and the sciences, with demonstrated proficiency and success implementing best practices in early childhood education, literacy, and student services. She/he will have experience leading a learning community in programs focused on character formation, virtues, and social competence. He/she will have excellent communication skills with parents and faculty members and be willing to embrace the vision of a Choir School as an agent of liturgical renewal, supporting the school's integral role in the Cathedral's life of worship. Established in 1996, the school has a 2.5-acre campus with six buildings, including a new Field House and Early Education Center, which opened in September of 2024. Position available July 1, 2026.
