Position will work in the Arlington, VA office Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.The Organization
The Office of Information Technology is responsible for selecting, deploying, and supporting software, hardware, and telecommunication resources for more than 400 staff members and 200 volunteers of the Central Administrative Offices (CAO) of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington (CDA), the Arlington Catholic Herald (ACH), and Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington (CCDA). These resources enable the organizations to effectively carry out their mission within the Diocese.
The Office of Information Technology is staffed by generalists organized into two teams-Network Services and Application Services-who collaborate on delivering services and projects. The Network Services team focuses on infrastructure, security, and productivity software across all three entities. The network environment consists of two domains within a single AD forest and supports 16 remote Catholic Charities offices connected via point-to-point VPN.
The Role
Network Administrator
The Network Administrator is part of the Network Services team and is responsible for the day-to-day operations, administration, and troubleshooting of all endpoints (servers, laptops, desktops), storage systems, and network infrastructure-both on-premises and cloud-based. This includes being part of an on-call rotation, which equates to approximately one week per month, with additional compensation.
Additionally, the Network Administrator provides oversight of Tech Support. This includes managing three Tech Support Technicians by coordinating schedules, assigning and monitoring tickets, and ensuring timely resolution of support requests.
Years and Type of Experience: Two-plus years' experience in Tech Support providing direct support to end users with exposure to network activities; and three-plus years' experience in network administration.
