Coordinator of Faith Formation K-6 Job Description
Works with and manages two constituent groups:
1. Normative Faith Formation Grades K - 6, and their families.
2. children preparing to receive Reconciliation and Eucharist.
following Sacramental and Faith Formation Policies and Catechist Requirements from the Diocese of
Colorado Springs, and National Conference for Catechetical Leadership as it applies to Sacramental
formation.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES:
The Coordinator of Family Faith Formation will thoughtfully engage families helping them respond to the
grace of God at work in their lives, deepen the sense of conversion, and equip them with formation as
Christian disciples. This position will:
• use age appropriate materials and processes to facilitate this process
• Assist families in their responsibilities as primary teachers of their children in the faith
• Assess individual and family readiness to approach the sacraments

TYPE:
Non-Exempt from Overtime, Hourly, Full time: 30 to 40 hours per week with benefits
Able to work flexible schedule as necessary (nights, weekends)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (to include but not limited to):
• Serve as part of the Faith Formation Team
• Be a cohesive member of Formation team through open honest dialogue
• Attend all Pastoral Staff meetings and Pastor directed events.
• Attend Diocesan meetings and/or retreats (when schedule permits
• Participate in all applicable to areas of responsibility, which include: First
Reconciliation, First Eucharist
• Gather and use ideas and materials from professional sources for use in various religious
formation programs
• Determine personal and professional goals at the beginning of each academic year and
discuss with Pastor for support and implementation in obtaining them
• Stays current with training and meetings required by the Diocese
• Recruit Catechists for Faith Formation classes and make sure they are safe Environment trained
Sacramental Preparation
• Provide and implement preparation materials for mainstream children of Sacramental
age for Reconciliation and First Eucharist including readiness interviews and activity days
• Coordinate with Pastor and Liturgist with regards to planning and implementing
Sacramental Rites during the Liturgy
Administrative
• Work in Coordination with the Faith Formation Team to create an annual Christian Formation Brochure
and to organize family activities/events
• Assist in the development of the Faith Formation budget in directly related areas
ordering program curriculum and supplies for all responsible programs
• Work with other staff members at meetings and in planning for shared building use,
which includes submitting "Room Reservation Request" forms to appropriate
administrative staff for scheduling
• Work with Volunteer Coordinator to guarantee necessary compliance with Safe
Environment Training standards, background checks, etc.
• Set up and coordinates volunteers for nursery that is available for Catechists
• Manage and organize the yearly VBS program
• Record and input formation registrations (when applicable) into the PDS system that will
generate class lists, enrollment numbers, and receivables, working with
Sacramental Recorder in giving complete information to be recorded of Sacraments in
appropriate ledgers
• Manages a relationship with homeschooling families to address their formation needs.
TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE PROFILE:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience required
• Five to ten years' experience in Catholic Formation preferred
• Strong organizational leadership skills along with oral & written communication skills required
• Demonstrate ability of building volunteer team to assist in processes
• Computer skills and basic technical knowledge required
• Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church and its mission is required
