CHILDREN'S FAITH FORMATION (CFF) ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
(Part Time)

THE POSITION
St. Frances Cabrini Parish in Littleton, Colorado is a thriving parish in the southwest Denver metropolitan area, part of the Archdiocese of Denver, with more than 3,000 registered households. The Parish is seeking applicants for Children's Faith Formation (CFF) Administrative Assistant, a part-time position.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate must be Catholic in good standing with the Church and lead a life in accord with Catholic teachings and beliefs. Because the CFF team is a strong part of our Parish Mission, it is critical for the candidate to have a servant's heart and flexibility in serving the needs of the faithful.

This position requires an individual who is detail oriented, organized, and professional in both appearance and attitude. The candidate must be a creative self-starter who is both able to follow and ask for direction. It is critical for the candidate to possess excellent interpersonal skills - in both verbal and written communications.

Proficiency is required in Microsoft Office applications - Excel, Word, Publisher, Power Point, and Outlook. The Candidate must be able to supply strong administrative support and coordination to the CFF staff for its programs, volunteers, and families. A catechetical background is required as there may be times when the candidate needs to fill in as teacher for a CFF class.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Primary Responsibilities:
-Set up and clean up before and after classes.
-Welcoming new families, preparing materials.
-Communication with volunteer Catechists, families, and children.
-Maintaining adequate records and supplies.
-Providing overall administrative support to the CFF staff.

Organizational Relationships:
-CFF is one of several ministries reporting to the Pastoral Associate, Parish Life, who reports directly to the Pastor.
-This position is supervised by the Director, Children's Faith Formation, who reports to the Pastoral Associate, Parish Life.

Work Hours:
-This position averages approximately 24-28 hours per week on a year-round basis
-The work schedule is primarily Mondays through Thursdays (mostly days and some evenings); there are occasional weekend hours for special events (e.g., retreats, Sacramental Masses, etc.).

BACKGROUND QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
The Faith:
-A mature, fully initiated practicing Catholic, actively living in accordance with the teachings of the Church.
-Is committed to ongoing personal and spiritual formation in the Catholic Faith.
-Has a demonstrated passion for the Catholic Church and Her mission in the world.
-Can effectively communicate the Faith with accuracy, joy, and a welcoming presence.

Required Education:
-Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.

Desired Experience:
-Catechetical background, as a volunteer or employee, preferably with children.

Character:
-Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and confidentiality.

Computer:
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Other:
-Must complete background check, before hiring, and Safe Environment Training, upon hiring.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Administrative:
-Prepares name tags.
-Monitors classrooms during class times.
-Answers phone calls and emails as needed.
-Creates forms; assembles and prepares materials for CFF program and events (makes photocopies and scans as needed, distributing materials by class).
-Stocks CFF supplies.

Collaborates and communicates with volunteer Catechists:
-Communicates with volunteers for all CFF programs, including weekly reminders.
-Responsible for communication to program participants, including reminders and announcements.
-Substitute for classes if primary volunteer Catechist cannot attend (or find substitute).
-Prepares class books and attendance sheets weekly.
-Tracks CFF attendance.

CFF Registration Database:
-Maintenance.
-Adds registrations, produces reports from database on request, including update class registration lists.
-Maintains accurate email lists.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Able to lift 25 pounds.
-Able to walk up and down stairs easily.
