Job Description

St Catharine Church in Holmdel, NJ, is searching for an enthusiastic individual to join their team as the Coordinator of Religious Education. This is a full-time position that will include occasional evenings and weekends. The program provides faith formation, catechetical instruction, and sacramental preparation to approximately 600 students and their families in grades one through eight.

The qualified candidate will manage, organize, and implement the religious education program for grades one through eight under the direction of the Pastor.
The coordinator will work with catechists and volunteers to engage, teach, and form young Catholics and their families, as well as coordinate the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. This individual will be responsible to recruit, provide training and spiritual formation of catechists and volunteers engaged in the program.

Job Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in theology or a related field is required, however background and experience will be taken into consideration for a qualified candidate with a bachelor's degree with an unrelated major. Proven leadership skills as well as effective oral and written communication skills are necessary for success. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic communication, and strong organization and planning abilities are a must. The successful candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
