Newman Connection, a ministry under Newman Ministry, exists to ensure every Catholic student feels Needed & Known as they transition from high school to college. Through Faith Forward, our national movement, we partner with dioceses, parishes, Catholic high schools, and campus ministries to personally connect students to their Catholic faith communities.

Location: Remote, with regular travel for events, diocesan visits, and national gatherings
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
What You'll Do:
The National Director of Operations is the operational leader responsible for turning the Faith Forward national strategy into daily execution. This leader will manage diocesan partnerships, parish outreach, ambassador recruitment and training, donor visibility, and cross-team coordination. The Director ensures that every function-operations, sales & marketing, and development-runs in sync toward the 2026 goals of 250,000 student connections, 150 dioceses engaged, and $1.5M annualized giving.
Movement Execution & Operations
-Own day-to-day campaign execution: diocesan onboarding, parish kits, ambassador training, internal communications & training, dashboards, and quarterly scorecards.
-Build and maintain project plans, workflows, and systems to hit annual targets.
-Oversee Called-HubSpot integration and ensure dashboards and reporting are accurate, timely, and usable for leaders and donors.
-Develop and refine Faith Forward SOPs, training materials, and onboarding processes to scale consistently across dioceses and parishes.
Ambassador & Community Engagement
-Recruit, train, and support 3,500 ambassadors (students, recent grads, campus ministers, parents).
-Coordinate with outreach staff and the Ambassador Coordinator to run competitions, leaderboards, and retention programs.
-Ensure small groups, youth ministers, and sports ministries are integrated without silos through Called's safe environment communication system.
Events & National Gatherings
-Lead operational planning for rallies, commissioning events, and the annual Best Practices Summit.
-Manage logistics, breakout trainings, and follow-up systems to ensure events generate measurable outcomes.
-Represent Newman Connection at diocesan gatherings, parish events, and industry conferences.
Cross-Team Collaboration
-Partner with the COO to translate strategic goals into tactical execution.
-Work with marketing to align storytelling, influencer campaigns, reels, and parish/student-facing content.
-Collaborate with development to supply stories, data, dashboards, and event opportunities that engage donors.
-Support outreach staff and coordinate with Called and Housing teams to avoid silos.
Measurement & Reporting
-Deliver monthly performance dashboards and quarterly impact reports for dioceses, donors, and internal staff.
-Monitor and report on KPIs including: diocesan participation, ambassador retention, student connections, donor engagement, and event ROI.
-Use data to identify gaps, propose solutions, and refine campaigns in real time.
What You Need To Get the Job Done:
-7+ years experience in operations, campaign or program management, or large-scale initiative execution (nonprofit, ministry, or movement-building preferred).
-Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines.
-Experience with CRM and marketing systems (HubSpot preferred); comfortable with data-driven decision making.
-Strong leadership, coaching, and facilitation skills, with ability to manage staff and volunteers.
-Deep alignment with Catholic values and Newman Ministry's mission to evangelize, disciple, and connect young adults.
-Proven track record of event execution at scale (regional or national) is highly desirable.
-Ability to travel up to 20% for rallies, diocesan visits, and national events.
