About Christ the King Baseball
Christ the King High School is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed Head Varsity Baseball Coach to lead one of New York City's respected high school baseball programs.
Competing in the AA Division of the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA), the Royals have established a tradition of success, highlighted by winning the 2025 CHSAA City Championship. We are looking for a coach who will build upon that foundation while developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
Position Overview
The Head Varsity Baseball Coach will provide leadership for all aspects of the baseball program, including player development, staff management, program culture, and communication with families and school administration. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong baseball knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.
Responsibilities
• Lead all aspects of the varsity and junior varsity baseball program.
• Recruit, supervise, and mentor a coaching staff consisting of at
least two varsity assistant coaches.
• Assist in identifying and supporting qualified coaches for the
junior varsity program.
• Plan and conduct organized fall workouts from mid-September
through mid-October.
• Develop and implement an offseason player development plan.
• Foster a positive, disciplined, and competitive team culture built
on accountability, sportsmanship, and character.
• Establish consistent communication with student-athletes,
parents, assistant coaches, and school administration.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Department regarding scheduling,
equipment, transportation, facilities, and program needs.
• Assist with routine field preparation and maintenance in
partnership with the Athletic Department and the New York City
Parks Department.
• Ensure compliance with all CHSAA and Christ the King High
School policies and expectations.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will possess:
• Previous baseball coaching experience, preferably at the middle
school, high school, or collegiate level.
• Strong knowledge of player development, practice planning,
game strategy, and program management.
• Outstanding leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• A commitment to mentoring young people and fostering their
academic, athletic, and personal growth.
• The ability to build positive relationships with players, parents,
coaches, administrators, and the broader school community.
Facilities & Resources
The Christ the King Baseball Program has access to outstanding training facilities, including:
• Juniper Valley Park baseball fields, located approximately a 10-15
minute walk from campus.
• An indoor baseball training facility featuring turf flooring, batting
tunnel, pitching machines, and portable mounds.
• An on-campus weight room available for year-round strength
and conditioning.
Compensation
All coaching positions within the Christ the King Baseball Program are stipend positions. This position has a compensation rate of $3600.00.
