ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a Firm Operations Manager to join our team. This full-time position is hybrid (in-office/remote) based in South Bend, Indiana. This is a critical role designed for experienced accounting professionals responsible for helping us build a mission-centered, growth-focused financial services firm as we expand our accounting services and partnerships with Catholic organizations across the country. The successful candidate will need depth in understanding efficient accounting services, financial management systems, and strategic operations to support our broad customer base, targeted growth, and the scale at which we're currently operating. This role will report to the Vice President of Organizational Development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Billing & Revenue Management: Oversee the accounts receivable and unbilled (WIP) processes. Ensure time entry and project milestone tracking tie seamlessly into client invoicing.
-Financial Accounting & Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including detailed profitability reports by different dimensions, after completing month-end procedures.
-Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing cash flow forecasting, heavily factoring in utilization rates and resource allocation.
-Internal Controls: Develop and enforce financial policies to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance with GAAP, enhance operational efficiency and standard SJFS business processes, and maintain accurate ledger reconciliations.
-Tax & Compliance: Manage corporate tax compliance and coordinate external audits.
-Risk Management: Maintain contracts with clients to incorporate SJFS legal requirements and recommendations, manage insurance coverage vendors, and make recommendations to ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
-Corporate Officer Duties: Act as the Corporate Treasurer and Secretary.
-Management & Development: Supervise, mentor, and empower team members to ensure the successful execution of operational and financial responsibilities across the firm.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU
Technical Skills and Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
-3+ years of accounting experience
-Proficiency in Sage Intacct and financial modeling
-Experience in accounting or professional services firms
-Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulatory compliance for -non-profits
-Experience with ERP systems management and financial technology stack optimization
-Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
