Job Description
The Campus Minister for Penn & Drexel Newman supports the Newman Center Director & Assistant Newman Director in the faithful implementation of the Newman Center's mission and vision to students in University City. He or she is responsible for supporting the execution of the strategic campus ministry program, which looks to foster a vibrant Catholic community for students at UPenn & Drexel University.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Cooperate in the execution of the annual strategic campus ministry plan.
*Help oversee the Penn & Drexel Newman Student Leadership Teams.
*Help oversee the FOCUS Missionary Teams in the integration of their efforts to support the ministry.
*Participate in the St. Agatha-St. James' Parish Apostolic team.
*Oversee the execution of key ministry events, including Fall Outreach, semesterly retreats, service programs, social activities, etc.
*Be present at key weekly ministry events, including some evenings and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Practicing Roman Catholic and affinity with the overall mission of the Catholic campus ministry.
*1+ years of experience working in a pastoral ministry setting.
*Bachelor's degree or higher.
*Enthusiasm and excellent people skills are essential.
*Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and to lead and motivate others, especially volunteers.
*Thoroughness in planning and implementing work, including goals, budget, timetables, and action steps to achieve objectives.
*Ability to work effectively with other staff members, campus representatives, and volunteers.
*Ability to think creatively and is not complacent in doing tasks 'because that's the way they've always been done.' Is comfortable challenging the process.
COMPENSATION
