Job Description
Director of Adult Faith FormationDescription:
This position is responsible for the formation of adults in the Catholic Faith. It serves a
diverse parish community on the campus of the University of Missouri. It reports directly to the
Pastor and serves directly alongside the Faith Formation Team including: the Director of Religious
Education, Director of Youth Ministry, and Coordinator of OCIA. It collaborates with other team
members including College Campus Ministry, Liturgy, Service & Justice, Advancement, and
Administration.
Responsibilities:
Volunteer Coordination-50%
Recruit and train/mentor resident parishioners to be evangelists with their families and
neighbors.
Form resident parishioners to be small faith group leaders and in other parish ministries.
Oversee and liaison for resident parishioner-led ministries, including prayer teams, small groups,
young adult ministry, and the Korean community.
Event Management-30%
Organize resident parishioner discipleship events, including quarterly parishioner welcome
events, parish missions, pilgrimages, and retreats.
Collaborate with team members to organize mystagogical events for those who recently received
sacraments (Matrimony, Confirmation, Infant Baptism), and their families.
Direct Adult Formation-15%
Organize and lead adult faith formation classes.
Form highly discipled individuals for leadership positions in resident ministry.
Administration-5%
Manage and plan the Adult Faith Formation budget.
Utilize parish communication tools and collaboration with the Director of Communications.
Ensure resident parishioner volunteers are fully compliant with Safe Environment protocols.
Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
Practicing Catholic who understands, supports, and both joyfully and confidently explains the
teachings of the Catholic Church.
Bachelor's degree in Catholic Catechetics, Theology, or Pastoral Ministry. Masters preferred.
Flexibility with a schedule that requires some evening and occasional weekend duties.
Effective communication skills with technology, social media, and parish-specific databases.
Salary commensurate with experience (include the salary band). Position includes benefits and flex
