Job Description
Position OverviewThe Donor Relations Coordinator nurtures and strengthens relationships with and supporters of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This position plays a key role in ensuring donors feel appreciated and engaged in the Shrine's Mission. The Donor Relations Coordinator primarily focuses on building relationships with donors, ensuring they are engaged with the Shrine's mission. The Donor Relations Coordinator will oversee the enrollment in various guilds, programs and Mass offerings provided by the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Responsibilities
• Serve as a spiritual ambassador for the Shrine, incorporating Catholic values in all interactions and ensuring all donor messaging aligns with the Shrine's Catholic identity.
• Receives and responds to pilgrim requests for enrollment in guilds, prayer requests, Mass offerings, candle lighting and other gifts.
• Maintains accurate donor records in the Shrine's Salesforce CRM database.
• Assists Advancement staff with proactive donor engagement via phone contact as needed.
• Maintains regular contact with donors via phone calls, emails and mailings.
• Participates in religious and liturgical functions of the Shrine, including Holy Mass, rosaries, novenas, and other devotional practices.
• Maintains inventory and stocks Advancement deliverables to be provided to pilgrims both in person and via United States Postal Service.
• Works collaboratively with Advancement personnel as well as other Shrine personnel and volunteers, including Finance and Communications Department personnel.
• Collaborates with Advancement Staff to develop and implement strategies for securing donations and achieving fundraising goals.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
• The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic with a sound knowledge of the Catholic faith and its practices, of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and of the history and activities of the Shrine of Our Lady of Gudalupe at La Crosse.
• Experience with fundraising initiatives and the effective use of a Customer Relationship Management system such as Salesforce.
• Excellent communication skills, to include verbal and written communication.
• Familiarity with the liturgical year, Catholic devotions, and feast days.
• Familiarity with the donor cycle and giving pipeline.
• Bachelor's degree and previous Advancement experience preferred. (2+ years)
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to innovate as opportunities are discovered for enhanced donor relationships.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word and presentation software, and the ability to learn database management practices.
• Spanish speaking fluency highly desired
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
• General office environment
• Able to lift boxes of correspondence up to twenty-five pounds.
• Ability to transport, as needed, correspondence to be delivered or shipped from local business, requiring a valid driver's license.
• Occasional night and weekend events which are donor centered.
