Director of Donor Engagement

Job Description

Position Overview
The Director of Donor Engagement is responsible for managing all aspects of the Shrine's monthly giving program and the direct mail solicitation of donors.
Responsibilities
• Serve as a spiritual ambassador for the Shrine, incorporating Catholic values in all interactions and ensuring all donor messaging aligns with the Shrine's Catholic identity.
• Lead and direct the work of managers and staff in the areas of monthly giving.
• Create a strategy for procuring new monthly giving team members with solicitation workflows attached to the specific entry points of leads.
• Oversee and guide the growth and retention of all monthly giving team members.
• Oversee the integration of broad appeals and the monthly giving team with other facets of the development and communication effort.
• Collaborate with the database team to create and adjust lead scoring processes to measure engagement and interests of prospects.
• Develop and implement A/B testing strategies to maximize conversion rates.
• Develop and execute personalized communication strategies to engage potential monthly donors.
• Utilize Salesforce and Account Engagement to manage donor records, track activity, and effectively implement marketing automation tools.
• Develop and prudently manage a budget to accomplish strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to align monthly giving initiatives with the Shrine's overall mission and goals.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
• The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic with a sound knowledge of the Catholic faith and its practices, of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and of the history and activities of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe at La Crosse.
• Familiarity with the liturgical year, Catholic devotions, and feast days.
• Leadership skills to inspire confidence and motivate others with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• In depth knowledge of the Catholic digital landscape.
• Proven experience in fundraising, marketing, or a related field with a track record of success.
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing or a related field.
• Expertise with database and software applications such as Salesforce and Account Engagement.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Bilingual Spanish abilities preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
• Lift or move boxes and paperwork up to 20 pounds
• Occasional night and weekend events which are donor centered.
