Job Description

The Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee is seeking a passionate, organized, and mission-driven Director of Catholic Campus Ministry to lead and grow a vibrant Catholic ministry for college students at the University of West Florida and Pensacola State College. The Director will provide leadership in evangelization, discipleship, student outreach, pastoral accompaniment, and administrative oversight, helping students encounter Jesus Christ and grow as lifelong disciples in the Church.
This position requires a strong Catholic identity, relational leadership, organizational skill, and the ability to build a
ministry that is both spiritually fruitful and operationally effective.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the overall vision, direction, and day-to-day operation of campus ministry.
- Develop a ministry budget and secure funding for the ministry.
- Lead development and fundraising projects.
- Build a culture of evangelization, discipleship, prayer, and sacramental life.
- Develop and coordinate student programming, small groups, service opportunities, and leadership development
with assistance from the Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) Staff.
- Alongside the Director of Spiritual Formation, help with logistics and planning of retreats.
- Recruit, train, and supervise student leaders, interns, and volunteers.
- Collaborate with clergy, parish staff, diocesan leadership, and university partners.
- Oversee ministry communications, including email, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Maintain organized systems for record keeping, reporting, and program coordination.
- Oversee CCM Staff.
- Hold a seat on the Advisory Board.
- Collaborate with the Director of Spiritual Formation to communicate monthly prayer intentions with the prayer
team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church and committed to her teachings.
- Bachelor's degree required; (Master's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or related field preferred).
- 5-10 years of experience in campus ministry, parish ministry, youth ministry, or young adult evangelization.
- Strong leadership, administration, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively while also taking initiative and leading independently.
- Heart for evangelization and forming missionary disciples.
- Ability to connect well with college students and young adults.
- Competent in word processing and communication technology; familiarity with basic design software and website
maintenance preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and healthy boundaries.
- Willingness to work varied schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Experience leading teams and managing multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with the culture and rhythms of university life.
- Pass a background and credit check.
