Weekend Cook (30+ Hours)

Job Description

Join our Heart Ridge team whose mission is to spread the gospel through hospitality and to provide people a time and place to encounter God.
This job does require good health and stamina as some of the days require a lot of standing.

We are looking for someone who can come on most weekends (usually 3 out of 4 Fridays/Saturdays a month, and usually NOT on holidays or Sundays) to prepare, cook, and serve the food to whomever is staying at our retreat center for the weekend. There are also opportunities to work on some weekdays as well. And there is some flexibility for schedule preferences.

Duties:

Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Handle food items with care, ensuring proper storage and handling practices are followed.
Provide exceptional service during meal times, catering to the needs of guests.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen area.
Clean up kitchen and cafeteria after the meals.
Maintain inventory of food and paper products used for meals.

Requirements:

Previous experience cooking for a crowd preferred.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
