Accounting SpecialistJob Summary
The Diocese of Grand Island is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our Finance Office. This position is responsible for processing deposits, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records for the Diocese and related entities. The ideal candidate will support audits, budgeting processes, and daily financial operations while contributing to a positive and professional office environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and process bank deposits and reconcile receipts
• Maintain and track accounts receivable
• Assist with accounts payable processing
• Perform data entry and maintain accounting system accuracy
• Support annual audit and budgeting processes
• Provide general clerical and accounting support
• Foster a positive and collaborative workplace environment
Must-Have Qualifications
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
• Ability to communicate effectively by phone and in person
• Ability to work full-time in an in-person office setting
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• 5-7 years of accounting experience
• Experience working in a nonprofit organization
• Familiarity with church or diocesan operations
• Prefer practicing Catholic in good standing with an understanding of Church mission
• Experience supporting audits and budgeting processes

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
