Job Description
St. John Neumann Church in Mount Laurel, NJ is seeking experienced part-time (15-25 hours) Parish Finance Administrator.General Description
The Finance Administrator will ensure fiscal responsibility of the daily parish finances and keep accurate up-to-date records. The role oversees all management of human resource information, bank reconciliation, payroll, accounts receivable/payable, administrative functions, budget preparation, tax filings, diocesan reporting and special filings, and help with fundraising events. A strong sense of attention to detail and the ability to work as a team player are two important qualities for this role.
Employment will be contingent upon complying with the Diocese of Trenton's Safe Environment training, background check and fingerprinting. This is a part time position of
15-25 hrs. per week with a salary range of $20-$25 per hr. based upon field experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and account reconciliation
2. Process bi-week payroll and maintain accurate tax and retirement records
3. Prepare Financial Statements as needed
4. Attend Financial Council Meetings quarterly
5. Handle insurance matters for property and personnel benefits
6. Manage, update and train in the use of ParishSoft and Paylocity
7. Meet with Pastor, Staff, and Parish Finance Council as need to discuss parish finances and strategies
8. Human resources
Qualifications
1. Applicable Bachelor's degree or preferred five years of experience
2. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and any accounting software packages
3. Willingness to learn ParishSoft and Paylocity
4. Strong knowledge in accounting principles and demonstrated budget management skills
5. Strong organizational and communication skills
6. Ability to work in team environment
7. High attention to detail with solid keyboarding skills
8. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
9. Practicing Catholic in good standing, with an understanding of parish culture and structure, preferred
10. Discretion in handling sensitive personal and financial information
