Job Description

Felician University is presently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Catholic priest to serve as spiritual leader and pastoral presence for the University community to foster faith development, spiritual growth and pastoral care among students, staff and faculty. The Chaplain will provide sacramental ministry, spiritual guidance and opportunities to worship, reflection and service in support of the University's mission and core values. He supports the Catholic identity and mission of the University and works collaboratively with campus leadership to cultivate a vibrant faith community.

Required Education:
High school degree required, BA/BA preferred

Primary Responsibilities:
• Celebrate Mass on campus on Sunday evenings and twice weekly during the morning or afternoon, Holy Days of Obligation and other significant occasions including but not limited to: Mass of the Holy Spirit, Baccalaureate, Ash Wednesday.
• Offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation at regularly scheduled times and by appointment.
• Offer availability for spiritual direction and for crisis ministry and pastoral response during times of illness, bereavement and other emergencies.
• Assist at weekly meetings with the OCIA, program, retreat days and Rites in the OCIA program.

Qualifications:
Ordained Roman Catholic priest in good standing with the Catholic Church; possesses the faculties necessary to celebrate the sacraments and exercise priestly ministry within the local diocese; demonstrated commitment to the teachings, sacramental life and mission of the Roman Catholic Church; ability to engage effectively with college students and young adults; experience in campus ministry, parish ministry, young adult ministry or related pastoral service preferred. ability and willingness to support and promote the Felician Franciscan core values and mission of the University.
