JOB TITLETitle: Director of Mission Advancement
Reports To: Executive Director
Hours: 35 hours per week
JOB SUMMARY
The director will lead Learning Atrium fundraising efforts to support existing programs and new initiatives. The position requires a person with an entrepreneurial spirit to grow donor contacts and giving. Previous experience fundraising for a school or nonprofit organization is preferred, and a heart for helping kids with learning disabilities is a must. Professional experience in major gifts fundraising, copywriting, direct mail fundraising, digital marketing, and design are desired. Preference will be given to candidates with major gifts experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF JOB
Major Gifts & Direct Fundraising
a) Manage a portfolio of major givers
b) Utilize Moves Management to move prospects into giving
c) Ask donors for major gifts ranging from $2,500 - $25,000
d) Grow annual givers and major givers to meet demand
e) Manage donor appeals/lists/data, correspondence & screenings
f) Design & implement plan to increase monthly giving & retention
g) Implement business sponsorship program enrolling new businesses & delivering on program requirements
h) Assist with grants and build relationships with key grantors
i) Other duties as assigned
Events, Community Engagement & Marketing
a) Continue current events, add in new events and recruit volunteers
b) Attend community events where donors & clients are present.
a) Assist with newsletter ensuring a donor focus
b) Pray for the success of our mission and encourage others to pray
c) Maintain digital marketing updates, landing pages, posts, and platform in conjunction with fundraising and marketing initiatives
d) Design reply devices and ads to grow interest
e) Assist with web development and updates
f) Arrange necessary vendors within budget
Leadership
a) Opportunity to be part of the organization's leadership team and manage staff/volunteers with proven fundraising success
b) Help with EOS Traction initiatives and strategic process
c) Collaborate with sales team to maximize ability to help more kids
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
• Track record of obtaining gifts preferred
• Willingness to ask for gifts is essential & training is provided
• Excellent organizational abilities
• Canva, InDesign or like design tools preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Experience maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
• Action-oriented, flexible, willing to work in fast paced setting
• Hands on development on small team spurred by growth/impact
• Must demonstrate computer experience, proficiency with Windows and Microsoft products, database software, electronic communications, and internet applications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
A. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of fundraising or sales experience
B. Experience fundraising in school, or religious nonprofit preferred
C. Fundraising asking experience required.
D. Must align with organizational mission.
