Job Posting: Coordinator of Faith Formation & Youth Ministry
St. Michael Catholic Church - Charlestown, IN
Full-Time, Exempt
St. Michael Catholic Church is seeking a mission-driven Coordinator of Faith Formation & Youth Ministry (CFFYM) to lead and support lifelong faith formation for children, youth, and adults. This full-time ministry role works closely with the Pastor and parish staff to cultivate a vibrant, Christ-centered parish community through religious education, sacramental preparation, youth ministry, and adult formation programs.
Position Overview
The CFFYM plans, implements, and oversees all parish faith formation initiatives, including:
Adult Faith Formation programs
Children's Ministry (PreK-Grade 5)
Parish Religious Education Program (Grades 1-5)
Middle/High School Youth Ministry
Sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, and OCIA/OCIC
Coordination, training, and support of volunteers
Compliance with all Archdiocese of Indianapolis Safe Parish and youth ministry guidelines
This role includes curriculum selection, catechist development, program scheduling, communication with families, coordination with parish ministries, and participation in parish staff activities, trainings, and diocesan events.
Qualifications
Practicing Catholic committed to the teachings and mission of the Church
Experience in catechesis, ministry leadership, or related fields preferred
Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
Ability to work collaboratively with parish staff, volunteers, and families
Safe Parish certification (or ability to complete upon hire)
