Job Description
Saint Edmund Elementary School is dedicated to fostering a love for technology and innovation among our students. We believe that coding is an essential skill in today's digital world, and we are seeking a passionate and skilled Coding Teacher to join our team.Responsibilities:
• Teach coding concepts and programming skills to students in grades K-8.
• Develop engaging lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and age groups.
• Facilitate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking.
• Mentor and lead the school robotics team, providing guidance and support during club meetings and competitions.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate coding into the broader curriculum.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
Qualifications:
• Experience in teaching coding or computer science, preferably to elementary and middle school students.
• Strong knowledge of programming languages and platforms suitable for young learners (e.g., Scratch, Python).
• Background in robotics is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and inspiring students in technology.
Additional Information:
• This position requires availability for one day a week, with additional hours for robotics club meetings, typically held after school.
