Job Description
Chesterton Academy of St. Scholastica (CASS) in Fort Wayne, Indiana is a pro-life, pro-family classical high school, educating students in the Catholic tradition. CASS seeks a faithful, joyful disciple of Jesus Christ who has a passion for classical education, forming a rich Catholic community, and building a healthy and thriving institutional culture to serve as its first Executive Director. The Executive Director will play a key role in the growth and development of the school as it enters its second year of operation.Administrative Model
The Headmaster and the Executive Director lead the administrative team at Chesterton Academy of St. Scholastica. This model of school administration is one of equality with both specific and shared responsibilities.
- The Headmaster is responsible for internal operations, including the instructional leadership of the school, as well as hiring and supervision of instructional personnel, the curriculum, and student life.
- The Executive Director is responsible for the business aspects of administration, including finance, human resources, fundraising, public relations, student recruitment, and building facilities.
These co-leaders share responsibilities for nurturing and maintaining the mission and traditions of the school, and ensuring fidelity to the Magisterium. Both administrators are hired by and report directly to the Board of Directors. A collaborative relationship between the Executive Director and the Headmaster is a requirement.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
1. Lead institutional advancement and fundraising activities to meet and exceed fundraising goals.
2. Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and student recruitment plan to meet enrollment goals.
3. Daily operations involving a wide range of school administration, including finance, human resources, facilities management, and public relations.
4. Provide public relations activities that maintain positive communication with key constituents.
5. Cultivate relationships with local parishes and the diocese of Fort Wayne - South Bend.
6. Maintain/establish and implement, in collaboration with the Headmaster and faculty, policies and programs designed to integrate the philosophy and mission of the school, particularly with regard to pro-life activities and the community promotion of classical education.
7. Implement policies and directives of the Board of Directors; attend all Board meetings.
8. Maintain/establish and implement financial procedures that provide information to the Board and stability to CASS.
Qualifications
- Must be a practicing Roman Catholic (required)
- Possess the minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (required)
- Previous experience in development, marketing, or administration
- Strong leadership skills that inspire excellence and cooperation from all constituent groups
- Positive convictions about Chesterton's unique integrated curriculum and dedication to building a culture of life
- The ability to promote a strong institutional advancement (fundraising) program
- A comprehensive working knowledge of school finance, operations, and budgeting
- Familiarity with public relations and communications
- Familiarity with supervision of facilities
- Committed to the mission of Chesterton Schools Network and the teachings of the Catholic Church
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
