Job Description
Position SummaryCentro Tepeyac is the only Spanish-speaking crisis pregnancy center in the DMV area. Our mission is to encourage, educate, and empower women and men to make life-giving decisions for themselves and their unborn children. Our current programs include:
1. Material assistance through the first 12 months of a child's life
2. Pregnancy testing
3. Options education
4. Client follow-ups and community referrals
5. Pregnancy & parenting classes
Our strategic goals include eventually scaling our suite of offerings to better serve both the abortion-minded/-vulnerable, in addition to the likely-to-carry clients in our service area. The candidate must be capable of translating high-level goals into actionable plans with the flexibility to adapt those plans as needs evolve.
The ideal candidate has a psychology or social work background, possesses business acumen, and has a strong commitment to pro-life values from conception to natural death. They can commit to an onsite workweek (9am-5pm), and possess a strong track record in fundraising and donor relations. This individual should be able to lead a small, collaborative team while working independently to advance the long-term, strategic goals of the center.
We seek a leader who is deeply committed to the sanctity of life, bringing genuine empathy and understanding to the complex realities faced by women in crisis pregnancies. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and approach challenges with dedication and compassion. A commitment of at least 3-4 years is preferred to allow adequate time to understand the center's operations, identify opportunities for growth, implement changes, and successfully lead with a mission-driven and strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Vision
Commit to and embody the organization's mission, values, and direction.
Provide clear, mission-driven leadership to staff, ensuring all decisions and programs reflect the center's core values.
Effectively communicate the organization's vision to diverse audiences-including clients, donors, volunteers, and staff-in a compelling and mission-driven way.
Strategic Planning & Implementation
Develop and execute strategic plans in alignment with the board's goals.
Lead long-term initiatives for program growth, marketing, technology integration, and branding to promote organizational impact.
Build relationships with other pro-life and pregnancy center leaders to explore innovative strategies and enhance program delivery.
Program Development & Management
Oversee all program development initiatives including: client services, volunteer programs, successful implementation of education classes, and SOP development.
Oversee the Director of Client Services, Client Advocate, and all services carried out by these team members. Responsible for any future hiring decisions made regarding the success of the center's programs and strategic goals.
Ensure programs meet client needs and provide compassionate, high-quality care.
Resource Stewardship
Oversee the organization's financial resources in Google Sheets and QuickBooks with integrity, transparency, and strong attention to detail.
Ensure efficient use of funds to support programmatic and operational goals.
Manage financial reporting and oversee the preparation and submission of the annual budget for board approval.
Fundraising & Development
Lead all fundraising activities, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and special events, such as the organization's annual gala.
Oversee the Marketing & Outreach Coordinator who partly manages the four main donor platforms and grassroots fundraising initiatives.
Implement strategies to grow financial support from individual donors, churches, foundations, and community partners to expand the center's financial base.
Team Leadership & Management
Manage and support staff fostering a mission-driven work environment.
Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluation to ensure professional growth and alignment with organizational goals.
Promote open communication, proactivity, and accountability across the team.
Public Representation & Advocacy:
Serve as the primary representative of the organization in public settings.
Build relationships with community leaders, partner organizations, and local stakeholders to increase visibility and support for the center's mission.
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills for articles, newspapers, radio features, and other public opportunities.
Qualifications
Must be committed to making decisions for the center aligned with Catholic teachings.
Experience in fundraising, donor relations, and nonprofit financial management.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in G-Suite.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and navigate sensitive issues with grace and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with crisis pregnancy centers (as a staff member or volunteer) or prior nonprofit leadership
Bilingual, Spanish and English verbal fluency
