Job Description

St. Andrew Catholic School is seeking a music teacher/children's choir director for the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications:
Knowledge and appreciation of music characteristic of Catholic tradition (chant, polyphony, and traditional English hymnody) is required. Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in either Music Performance or Music Education, teaching experience, classroom management abilities, and effective communication skills are all required. Reliability, timeliness, and a collaborative spirit are also needed for success.

Additional opportunities for those applicants qualified to serve as Staff Section Leaders in the parish's all-auditioned choir, or serve as substitute organist for the parish.

Duties:
Direct the school's Liturgical Choir, under the leadership of the Pastor and parish Director of Sacred Music.
Direct fall and spring semester musicals.
Focus on vocal pedagogy with students, teaching practices of proper technique, vocalize, etc.
Establish age-appropriate Music Theory and Music Appreciation courses.
