Job Description
We are seeking a mission-driven Theology Teacher who is committed to academic excellence and Catholic formation. The ideal candidate would be a practicing Catholic who upholds and supports the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The candidate should possess the knowledge and flexibility to teach multiple courses within the Theology curriculum and apply diverse instructional methodologies that promote student engagement and achievement.Key Responsibilities:
• A commitment to the Catholic identity of Villa Maria Academy and the mission of the IHM charism.
• Willingness to work with Mission & Ministry, on retreats, liturgies, outreach, etc.
• Demonstrated dedication and collaboration to help foster a love of oral and written communication.
• Proven fluency and willingness to use technology to enhance instructional delivery, including teaching in a virtual environment and one-to-one instruction.
• Ability to conduct ongoing assessment of student growth and progress and modify instructional methods and curriculum to fit individual needs of students of varying levels and abilities.
• Continuing acquisition of professional knowledge and pedagogy including current developments in the discipline by attending seminars, workshops, or other professional development opportunities.
• Learning and utilizing the school's learning management and student information systems for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required.
• Providing an advisory role to help guide students with course management, study skills, and social development.
• Have an interest in supervision of co-curricular responsibilities, as available.
Education and Experience:
• A master's degree in the study of Theology or Religious Studies from an accredited college or university and/or experience providing instruction in high school Theology.
