Job Description
Position Opening: Principal, Elementary/Middle School (PK3-8th grades)Reports to: System President
Contract, 1.0 FTE
Start: July 1, 2026
Position Summary
The Principal serves as the instructional and faith leader of the school, responsible for the day-to-day academic and student life operations. Working in close collaboration with the President, Pastors, and the local Board of Trustees, the Principal advances the mission of Catholic education by promoting academic excellence, forming disciples of Jesus Christ, and fostering a strong Catholic school culture.
The Principal focuses on internal school leadership, including curriculum, instruction, student development, and faculty performance.

Primary Responsibilities:
Catholic Identity & Faith Formation
• Model and promote Catholic teachings and values in all aspects of school life
• Support integration of faith across the curriculum and daily activities
• Collaborate with the Pastor and President to ensure alignment with parish and diocesan mission
• Foster a culture of prayer, discipleship, and service among students and staff
Academic & Instructional Leadership
• Lead the development and implementation of a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
• Ensure instructional excellence and continuous improvement in student achievement
• Oversee curriculum alignment with Diocese of Green Bay standards
• Utilize data to inform instructional practices and school improvement efforts
Faculty & Staff Leadership
• Recruit, hire, orient, supervise, and evaluate faculty and instructional staff
• Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and professional development
• Foster a collaborative, mission-driven professional culture
• Ensure accountability for instructional quality and student outcomes
Student Life & Discipline
• Oversee student behavior, discipline, and wellness, in cooperation with the Associate Principal and Dean of Student Engagement.
• Promote whole-child development: academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual
• Address student needs with consistency, fairness, and compassion
• Establish and implement student policies aligned with diocesan expectations
School Operations (Internal)
• Manage daily school operations
• Oversee supervision of students and staff during the school day
• Ensure a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment
• Collaborate with the Finance and Human Resources teams on budget priorities related to academics and staffing
Collaboration & Communication
• Partner closely with the President and administration on strategic planning and school advancement
• Support clear and consistent communication with families regarding academics and student life
• Work with the Pastors and parishes to strengthen school-parish relationships
• Participate in system and diocesan principal meetings and professional development

Elementary School Emphasis: Foundations and Nurturing
• Focus on early literacy and foundational math skills
• Support whole-child development (social, emotional, behavioral, spiritual)
• Maintain a strong, visible presence with students, families, and staff
Middle School Emphasis: Structure, Independence, and Complexity
• Emphasize academic rigor and preparation for high school
• Oversee subject-area teams (Math, Science, ELA, Religion, etc.)
• Address complex student behavior and social dynamics

Qualifications
• Practicing Catholic in good standing
• Master's degree in Educational Leadership or related field
• Wisconsin Principal Licensure (or ability to obtain)
• Experience in teaching and school leadership
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and collaboration with diocesan leadership
