Job Description

St. Michael Catholic School is a Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 8th grade school founded in 1889 with an enrollment of 107 students. St. Michael Catholic School employs 10 full-time and 5 part-time faculty in Weimar, Texas, a small, rural town with historic and architectural charm. Located on Intestate 10, roughly halfway between Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, Weimar is part of the "Texas-German belt" region with a strong cultural tapestry and large number of German and Czech descendants. Veterans Park, also known as Strickland Field, (est. 1948) was the first lighted baseball field between San Antonio and Houston and remains a state-of-the-art stadium that hosted a Babe Ruth League World Series tournament in 2005.

The cozy community with a long vibrant history is where well-qualified applicants may now apply to the vacant Catholic School Principal position. The next principal of St. Michael Catholic School will benefit from the tremendously supportive school pastor who wants to see the school continue to flourish. This a great opportunity for someone who loves Catholic education, is interested in partnering with families to form intentional disciples of Jesus Christ, and wants to help lead a wonderful school. Interested candidates should complete the application packet located at www.https://victoriadiocese.org/employment-opportunities and submit it to Superintendent Robert "Rob" Whitworth along with their resume, letter of intent, and unofficial copies of college transcripts.

Applicants for the position of principal must be a practicing Catholic. The principal collaborates with and works under the supervision of the pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church. The principal recognizes and understands that the school is a ministry of the parish. The principal acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church. Educational requirements for the job include holding a master's degree and having earned 18 hours of graduate credit in educational administration.
