Job Description

Position: Director of the Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC)
Location: Mater Filius Queen City, Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, Hours of Operation 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

About the ECLC:

The Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) is dedicated to supporting women on their path to self-sufficiency by providing a loving and nurturing environment for their children. Our mission is to empower new mothers in our care with the resources and support they need to balance the responsibilities of motherhood and personal development. The ECLC provides free childcare for children born at Mater Filius while they are living with us and also after their mother has completed the program and is living on her own with her child. Children under the age of four are served, with the possibility of extending care to other children at the discretion of the Director.

Position Overview:

The Director of the ECLC will oversee the daily operations of the center, ensuring it maintains a safe, caring, and spiritually grounded environment for the children. This individual will guide the mothers as they navigate the new responsibilities of balancing work, education, and parenting. The Director will also ensure compliance with state regulations, implement effective early childhood education practices, and manage a team of dedicated staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the ECLC, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment.

Serve as a mentor and guide to first-time mothers, offering practical advice and emotional support.

Develop and implement age-appropriate educational and developmental activities for children under four years old.

Manage and train ECLC staff/volunteers, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven team culture.

Ensure compliance with all applicable Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) provider education and training requirements.

Maintain open communication with the mothers, providing updates on their children's progress and addressing any concerns.

Collaborate with Mater Filius leadership to maintain alignment with the organization's mission and values.

Manage enrollment and determine eligibility for children outside the standard criteria, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Woman aged 25 years or older.
Demonstrates a strong and active spiritual life.
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred.
At least two years of experience in a school or daycare environment.
Meets all ODJFS provider education and training requirements.
Experience with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Approach is preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Passion for working with children and supporting mothers on their journey to success.
