Director of Parish Life

Job Description

All Souls Catholic Parish in Englewood, CO is seeking a full-time employee to be the Director of Parish Life. This person will be responsible for building up the community through offering events and catechesis, helping plan various liturgies including funerals and weddings, and coordinating the OCIA program. All Souls Parish also has a school attached and this position is a liaison between the parish and school. This position reports directly to the pastor. Responsibilities:
o Organize and run community events (parish picnic, Oktoberfest, etc) in collaboration with volunteers and the Director of Communications. This can include monthly socials (e.g. Drinking with Saints, Easter Egg Hunt, Dinner with St. Nick), ADHOC receptions (e.g. Blue Mass and reception, Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, Deacon Welcoming), or any small groups or catechetical sessions
o Ministry Support: Bible Studies, Men's Group, Altar and Rosary, Knights, Funeral Receptions
o Support planning for staff retreats, holy hours, happy hours, socials, for all staff or just parish
o OCIA: Plan the curriculum and running the classes, including teaching and working with catechist volunteers
o Recruit and train volunteers/ sponsors for OCIA
o One-on-one meetings with all OCIA inquirers, and being willing to work with people in various circumstances
o Developing pre-evangelization opportunities
o Clergy, ministry volunteers, and musician scheduling, and training volunteers involved in the liturgy
o Coordinating funerals, baptisms (just the paperwork and scheduling), and weddings
o Helping with planning special liturgies (like Christmas and Holy Week)
o Supporting the youth director with weekly middle school program as needed
o Be present and build relationships with the school families
o Support mom's and dad's groups
o Support the pastor and parish staff on adhoc initiatives

Qualifications:
• Faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Prayerful, open to the Holy Spirit
• Can recognize and grow the gifts of the Holy Spirit in others
• Well catechized, can teach well
• Able to form relationships with parishioners
• Available on nights and weekends
• Creative problem solving, willing to experiment
• Passionate about evangelization and the mission of the parish
Not required but preferred:
• A degree in Catholic theology

Compensation & Benefits
We anticipate paying $50,000 - $55,000/year. This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on several factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, and duties.
