Holy Family Academy is a PreK-8 Catholic parochial school ministry of Annunciation parish in the Catholic Diocese of Worcester, MA. Holy Family Academy was forged with over 100 years of academic excellence by uniting two great schools, Holy Rosary and Sacred Heart. We proudly serve children and their families in the region surrounding the city of Gardner.
The school ministry is committed to excellence in its students' intellectual development and spiritual formation within the rich Catholic tradition. With a holistic approach, the curriculum is centered on basic skills and enriched by faith formation and a liturgical life aimed at helping each student develop intellectually, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially. Instruction in the Catholic faith, Sacred Scripture, and prayer are the foundation for this whole-person approach.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Prepare daily lesson plans and teaching materials
•Model the Catholic faith and Gospel values for all students
•Maintain a warm, nurturing, and organized learning environment
•Communicate regularly with parents and families about their children's learning
•Fulfill administrative duties (e.g., taking attendance, attending staff meetings, etc.)
•Monitor transitions, lunch, recess blocks, and other coverages, as needed
•Manage student behavior
•Evaluate each students' progress
•Utilize formative and summative assessments to drive instructional planning, monitor student learning, and provide feedback to students
•Utilize educational technology and other innovative resources to drive student learning
•Perform other related duties, as assigned
Qualifications - Candidates should have or possess:
•A shared dedication to the Catholic identity and mission of Holy Family Academy
•A love for working with students
•Strong communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with families and coworkers
Note: Retired Public School Teachers Collecting Massachusetts Teacher Retirement Do not need to count hours working for a private school.
