Job Description
Beginning Experience International Ministry (BEIM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Catholic Christian organization that offers effective, structured grief support programs across the USA and in two overseas regions, Great Britain & Ireland and Asia Pacific. Since the first Beginning Experience Weekend retreat was held in Texas in 1974, BEIM "peer ministry" teams have helped tens of thousands of divorced, separated and widowed women and men of all ages to find hope and healing after the end of a marital relationship. Please visit our website (www.beginningexperience.org) to learn more about our Ministry.WHY WORK WITH US?
You could play a role in helping people find a new path after one of the worst losses of their life: a divorce, separation, or the death of their marital partner. Our work is challenging but very much needed in today's world. One person's healing can have a ripple effect on those around him or her.
The BEIM office is currently in San Antonio, Texas, but will be moved to one of the executive director's location. If the office does not reside in your location, work will be remote. Collaboration with the co-director likely will be remote. We are small and agile.
Are you are looking for meaningful part-time work in collaboration with a volunteer co-director? If so, this may be an ideal position for you! Come help us help others!
POSITION OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will share responsibility for:
• guiding the worldwide BEIM organization with a focus on serving its members and program participants on their journey from grief to hope, leading to a new beginning in their lives
• accomplishing the Ministry's strategic and operational goals
• managing the day-to-day operations of the Ministry
• increasing BEIM's visibility and viability through successful marketing and fundraising efforts in conjunction with our working Board committees; applying today's technology (e.g., AI) to meet organizational needs and promote growth
• managing paid office staff, volunteers, and technology consultants
• handling tax, insurance, legal, and payroll compliance matters
• overseeing financial matters, including fundraising, grant proposals, annual budget preparation; collaborating with the Board treasurer
• overseeing the integrity of the Ministry and promoting the programs offered by BEIM's local teams
• supporting affiliated (licensed) organizations or individuals and engaging strategic partners
• planning the in-person BEIM 2026 summer Convention in the U.S.; supporting and attending one or two Regional Conferences in the U.S. in non-Convention years
• possibly traveling to overseas Conferences in non-Convention years.
QUALIFICATIONS
• must live in the United States and pass a pre-employment background check
• a bachelor's degree in business administration, public or nonprofit management, social services, education, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
• prior management responsibility in a private, public, educational, or nonprofit setting is a plus, as is board or leadership experience in an organization with volunteer members serving in multiple locations
• good computer/technology skills (Zoom, Adobe, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint at a minimum), with a willingness to stretch and learn new applications and methodologies
• excellent communication, networking, and people skills
• a strong desire to help BEIM fulfill its mission from an ecumenical perspective, that is, to invite, recruit and serve Ministry members and program participants from any faith background or spiritual practice
• must be an active Catholic, aligned with Church teachings, who will consistently adhere to and uphold them through BEIM policies and practices.
