Job Description
OVERVIEWThe President serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Central Catholic High School, appointed by the Board of Directors with approval from the Provincial Superior of the Marist Brothers, Province of the United States. This visionary leader will advance Central Catholic's distinguished religious and educational mission while embodying the values of the Marist Brothers.
The President provides strategic leadership for all aspects of the school's operations, guiding a talented Leadership Team to fulfill the school's mission of academic excellence and faith formation. As the school's primary ambassador, the President cultivates meaningful relationships with key stakeholders while ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of this respected institution.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
• Lead comprehensive strategic planning encompassing mission, enrollment, programs, staffing, facilities, technology, advancement, and finances
• Oversee and advance the effectiveness of Central Catholic's complete religious and educational program
• Ensure the Catholic and Marist identity remains central to the school's culture and operations
• Lead crisis mitigation, prevention, preparedness, and response protocols, including school safety
Team Leadership
• Lead and coordinate the Leadership Team in service of the school's mission and strategic objectives
• Assume final responsibility for hiring all personnel and signing all contracts
• Provide mentorship, development opportunities, and performance feedback to direct reports
• Implement effective succession planning throughout the organization
Financial Stewardship
• Partner with the Chief Advancement Officer to lead a mission-driven, comprehensive fundraising strategy to ensure the long-term stability of the school
• Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to plan and manage the annual school budget with Board and Marist Brothers Province approval
• Ensure responsible allocation of resources aligned with strategic priorities
Relationship Building
• Support the Board of Directors as an ex-officio member, executing Board decisions
• Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders including employees, donors, alumni, parents, community partners, the Provincial Council of the Marist Brothers, the Board of Directors, and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston
• Serve as primary liaison to the Marist Brothers Province and the Archdiocese of Boston
• Foster the school's presence in the Lawrence community and the Merrimack Valley by engaging with local organizations and the community and promote opportunities for mutual collaboration, student service, and shared mission that reflect CCHS's values and commitment to being a vibrant, contributing member of the broader community.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUPERVISION OF OTHER EMPLOYEES
The President directly supervises the Principal, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Advancement Officer, Director of Admissions, Director of Strategic Initiatives & Innovation, Director of Strategic Communications, Director of Campus Safety, Director of Buildings and Grounds, Human Resources Manager, and Assistant to the President. While ultimately responsible for all CCHS employees, the President delegates appropriate supervisory responsibilities to these leadership team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Faith Leadership
• Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with thorough knowledge of Catholic education, values, and teachings
• Commitment to deepening understanding of the Marist charism and principles of education, engaging in continuous learning about the culture and mission of Central Catholic High School, and actively integrate these values into the life of the school community
• Ability to authentically integrate Catholic and Marist values into the school community
Professional Experience & Education
• Minimum of 5 years successful experience in organizational leadership; Catholic school leadership preferred
• Master's degree in education, educational administration, Catholic school leadership, business administration, or related field
• Experience in major gift solicitation, budget management, and strategic planning highly desirable
Leadership Competencies
• Exemplary management abilities with capacity to inspire, motivate, and navigate challenges
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging diverse audiences
• Demonstrated ability to foster a diverse and inclusive environment
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
• Proficiency with email, internet, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and related technologies
